The Lake Havasu Astronomy Club conducted a star party at Sara Park on January 25th. Several prominent objects were viewable including the First Quarter Moon, Venus (early in the evening), the Orion Nebula, the Pleiades (Seven Sisters) star cluster, Sirius (the brightest star in our sky, actually a double star) and a little later in the evening Saturn. Unfortunately our announcement of the event never got published in the newspaper so attendance was limited to 15 of Glen’s science class students, a couple siblings and 5 or 6 parents. The kids seemed to enjoy themselves and were quite knowledgeable in astronomy.
